Sigma Kappa - Xi Chapter - Kansas University

Sigma Kappa - Xi chapter at Kansas University strives to continue the mission of promoting friendship, developing women of intellect and integrity, cultivating leadership potential, and enriching the lives and communities of Sigma Kappa memebers in Lawrence, Kansas.

Sigma Kappa Fraternity was founded at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, on April 28, 1867, as I. C. Sorosis. Sigma Kappa was the first national secret college society of women to be modeled after the Greek-letter fraternities of men. During a time when few women were admitted to colleges and universities, Sigma Kappa created a feeling of unity among pioneering women!
